| Born in 1957, Mr. Kachurik has been working in hot glass since 1978. Educated at Penland School in South Carolina and Pennsylvania University, he is an independent glass artist experimenting in precious metals and chemicals to create his own colors. He uses a technique called veiling, a metalic coating which when applied to the hot glass and covered with clear glass, traps the color inside the sculpture. His transparent sculptures maximize the extraordinary inherent qualities of glass. Each piece is personally signed. Mr. Kachurik's work can be seen in museums and galleries throughout the world. |
